Staring contest online — vs a real opponent

STARE-DOWN is Trendoff's composure mode: a live staring contest against a real person, both cameras on, eye to eye. AI scores the menace you hold across the whole round — the harder you glare, the faster your score climbs, and a grin slows you down. When 15 seconds run out, the higher score wins. No judges. No votes.

How to play

  1. Tap in. Pick a nickname and enter the arena — you're matched with a live opponent in seconds.
  2. Lock eyes. Both cameras go live at once; you're staring at each other, not at a screen prompt.
  3. Out-menace them. Hold the glare — AI scores your menace continuously, and cracking a smile costs you. Highest score at the buzzer takes the win.

It's the whole round that counts, not the last second: menace is accumulated the entire time, so one early laugh can lose you a match you dominated late. Both meters are on screen live, which makes holding a straight face that much harder.

Not your usual staring game

Most online staring contest games put you against a blink detector or a pre-recorded video. Trendoff's stare-down is 1v1 against a live human — a stranger from the queue or a friend you challenge — with an AI reading composure and menace rather than just counting blinks. It's the playground staring contest, with an actual scoreboard.
